LEGO Selfies
Just for the fun of it, we decided to create our own self portraits - as Lego people!!!
This is my Lego selfie-person. I love the snap-on plastic hair. It kind of looks like me, don't you think?
I also like the spattered background. It looks very arty!
To create our Lego selfies, we first studied a Lego person. We figured out how the arms and legs are shaped, how they move, and how large the head is compared to the body. Did you know the the torso of a Lego person is a trapezoid?
Then we sketched the basic Lego shape on a large piece of paper.
Next, we filled in the colors. This orange shirt is just like the one Levi is wearing.
We made the head and U-shaped hands yellow, just like a real Lego person.
After that, the selfie was completed in any way desired with any media, including colored pencil, markers, Sharpies, oil pastels, crayons, and watercolors.
It was fun to personalize the shirt that our Lego selfie is wearing.
We created selfies that were just like us, or maybe with just a few changes (like hair color).
The we created a symbolic or a realistic background.
